TubeCheckr Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 11, 2026
Overview
TubeCheckr is a Chrome extension that helps YouTube creators optimize their video SEO. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we access and how it is handled.
Data We Access
- YouTube Data API Key: You provide your own API key, which is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. It is only used to fetch video metadata from YouTube's official API.
- YouTube Page Content: The extension reads video titles, descriptions, and tags from YouTube Studio pages to calculate SEO scores. This data is processed entirely in your browser.
- Keyword Searches: Keyword suggestions are fetched from Google's public autocomplete API. Your search queries are sent to Google's servers — not ours.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
- We do not track your browsing activity.
- We do not use analytics, cookies, or tracking pixels.
- We do not have any servers — all processing happens locally in your browser.
Data Storage
All data (API key, usage counters) is stored locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. No data is sent to external servers controlled by us.
Third-Party Services
- YouTube Data API v3 (Google): Used to fetch video tags and metadata. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Autocomplete API: Used for keyword suggestions. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
